In December 2020, Emma Fagerberg welcomed a Yorkshire Terrier named Lilo into her life, hoping for a dog that would keep her entertained.
Since then, she’s discovered that Lilo is much more than just a source of amusement. In a TikTok video that has since gone viral (@yorkielilo), Emma shared that Lilo is not only a companion but also a “stalker, a boyfriend stealer, a travel buddy, a colleague,” and, above all, an attention-seeker.
Wherever Fagerberg goes, Lilo follows closely behind. However, the 30-year-old says she wouldn’t have it any other way. Speaking with Newsweek, Fagerberg expressed that the bond she shares with Lilo is exactly what she always hoped for.
The TikTok clip, which showcases Lilo’s quirky behaviors, has garnered over 3.5 million views and more than 274,000 likes since it was posted in March. Accompanying the video is a caption that reads: “She is everything in one little body.”
Fagerberg, who is based in Sweden, explained: “She’s been following me everywhere right from the start. Whether it’s the bathroom, kitchen, balcony—wherever I am, she’s there too.

“My favorite thing about her is how cuddly she is. She always wants to be close to me, and sometimes even sleeps on me. She’s also really easy to take anywhere, so I never travel without her.
She comes along to restaurants, shops, the hairdresser, and even the nail salon.”
Although Fagerberg didn’t anticipate having such a clingy dog, it’s a trait common in many dogs, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC).
The AKC explains that dogs often stay close to their owners because of their natural pack instincts, ensuring they’re never far from their “pack” for safety reasons.
It can also indicate that a dog imprinted on their owner as a pup, viewing them as a leader or nurturing figure. Additionally, dogs tend to stick close to the person who provides food, walks, and, of course, treats.
While some people refer to clingy dogs as “Velcro dogs,” Fagerberg playfully calls Lilo a stalker, all in good humor.
“There’s nowhere she won’t follow me to,” Fagerberg told Newsweek. “But I love that she’s my forever soulmate and the best thing that ever happened to me.”
The video of Lilo has resonated with countless TikTok users, many of whom see their own pets in Lilo’s behavior. The viral post has already attracted more than 2,300 comments. One user humorously remarked, “That’s not a dog, that’s a baby.”
Another added, “I also have a Velcro pup. They are awesome!”
A third person simply stated: “Stage 4 clingers, but so worth it.”
